MAA Contributes Tree Care

On Arbor Day, nearly 400 Massachusetts Arborists Association members took part in a statewide volunteer effort called Arbor Day of Service. More than 40 Massachusetts communities received an estimated $250,000 in professional arboriculture services. The MAA partnered with local tree wardens, community leaders and civic organizations to identify worthy projects in need of professional tree care.

Davey Participates in Events, Announces Promotions

Hundreds of Davey Tree Expert Co. employees participated in local community events by planting trees, raising awareness about tree benefits and educating students about the value of urban forests for Earth Day and Arbor Day this year. The company also received the Beacon Award from the Arbor Day Foundation.

In California, Larry Abernathy has been promoted to vice president and general manager of the Davey Tree Surgery Co., a subsidiary. Additionally, Larry Evans has been promoted to the position of senior vice president of Surgery Co. operations. In Canada, Mike Nash was promoted to vice president of operations, responsible for all Ontario residential, commercial and utility operations. Blair Veitch was also named vice president of operations, with responsibility for Western residential/commercial operations as well as utility operations in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Terex Woodsman Signs Distributor, Attends Meeting

Terex Woodsman signed an agreement with Billings Kubota, a full-service distributor servicing the state of Montana and surrounding area. Billings Kubota is a privately owned company that has been in the business for many years. It currently represents Terex as the dealer for ASVs and represents many other manufacturers.

Terex Woodsman attended a Terex Aerial Work Platforms event to present and demonstrate the Terex Woodsman product offering and equipment to rental houses. Barry DeLau, global sales and marketing director, and Danny Thiros, regional sales manager, were invited to give an overview of the Terex Woodsman product portfolio and demonstrate at the Partners in Performance 2012 Meeting at the LaCosta Resort, Carlsbad, Calif.
