MAA Releases Updated Study Guide

The Massachusetts Arborists Association announced the release of the newly updated Massachusetts Certified Arborist Study Guide version 2.0. The updated guide CD serves as a primer for MCA exam candidates, as well as a comprehensive resource for tree care professionals. It was developed by the MCA examining committee and features enhanced tutorials, improved tree identification, best practices, user-friendly navigation and two new chapters: Wood Decay in Urban Trees by Chris Luley, Ph.D., and Plant Health Care & Integrated Pest Management by Bob Childs. Morbark Welcomes National Accounts Sales Manager

Morbark, Inc. announced the addition of Keith Barr to its sales team as national accounts sales manager. With more than 30 years of experience in the forestry and tree care industries, Barr comes to Morbark after four years with Reading Truck Body as director of national accounts and forestry products. Prior to that, he worked for Arbortech for nearly 28 years, most recently as director of Arbortech fleet sales.

Stens to Expand Headquarters

Stens, LLC announced that it will expand its headquarters in Jasper, Ind., creating up to 98 new jobs by 2015. Stens, a division of Ariens Co., will invest $2.28 million to purchase, renovate and equip a 208,400-square-foot building. The facility will house the company’s headquarters and distribution center, and operations will transfer to the site in August, when upgrades are expected to be complete.

Echo Bear Cat Awards Chipper/Shredder

Echo Bear Cat and Outdoor Equipment Distributors, Inc. awarded Kim Turner of Conway, S.C., with a new Echo Bear Cat SC2170 chipper/shredder. Turner won the 2011 GIE+EXPO giveaway. Mike Murphy, Outdoor Equipment territory manager, presented the machine to Turner at Barry’s Outdoor Equipment and spent the day with her, training her on proper use and maintenance.
