240 hp Grinder

The new RH1754-240 horizontal grinder has a 240 hp Cummins diesel engine and a discharge conveyor that reaches over 12 feet high. Screens can be changed in minutes, allowing the operator to size the product to exact specifications. Variable speed control on both infeed and discharge conveyors can be tailored to virtually any grinding application. It also features radio remote controls, magnetic head pulley to separate nails and light metals, swing-away fuel tank and large radiator with removable debris screen and reversing fan. It is available on tracks.

Redesigned Chippers

Morbark announced design improvements for the Beever M12R and M15R brush chippers. The M12R was shortened by 15 inches to make it easier to park and maneuver. The increased infeed width results in a 25 percent greater infeed perimeter opening. Separate fuel and hydraulic tanks eliminate the chance of cross-contamination between fuel and hydraulic oil, and a separate fan chamber increases airflow. The M15R now has a 30-inch drum diameter. The drum contains four knives, allowing for improved performance in larger wood and better wear life per knife. The knives are now located in replaceable knife holders. Modified positioning of the feed wheel pivot point and lift cylinders decreases dead space and necessary down pressure. It also has split fuel and hydraulic reservoirs and a more ergonomically designed infeed.

New Climbing Rope

Yale Cordage now offers XTC Imori, a 24-strand rope in the 11 mm range that climbs like a big rope. Measuring a full 12 mm, the added textured fibers enhance the rope’s feel and provide a good grip. These fibers give the Imori rope a broken-in feeling right out of the bag. It is CE Type A EN 1891 certified and is available in high-visibility green/black and orange/black. It comes in standard lengths of 37, 45 and 60 meters, as well as 600-foot reels and 2,400 (two 1,200-foot bulks).

Pants That Move With You

Arborwear has introduced the Stretch Tech Pant. The stretchable climbing pant is made from a blend of nylon and Elasthane to combine durability, mobility and breathability. The high-wear knee area is reinforced with abrasion-resistant fabric, and industrial-strength stitching accommodates the stretch of the pants. They are Teflon-coated for resistance to water and oil stains. Other features include seven pockets (two front, two rear, one utility, one cargo and one zippered), Rugged Gusset gusseted crotch for increased mobility and zippered cuffs with Velcro tabs for a custom fit over shoes or boots. Available in charcoal, in even waist sizes from 30 to 38 with 30, 32, 34 and some 36-inch inseams.
