Visible Vest

Forestry Suppliers’ Class II Surveyor’s Vest is constructed of 100 percent polyester mesh that makes it cool and comfortable to wear. It includes a radio pocket with mic clip, field notebook pocket, four pencil slots, a compass pocket with grommet, four flagging pockets with grommets, two large inside pockets and two inside zippered pockets. Velcro pocket closures keep items secure, and 2-inch wide reflective strips on the front and back of the vest provide extra visibility.

Rapido Loco

The Woodbine Rapido Loco firewood processor from CRD Metalworks has a 5-foot circular saw blade powered by an 84 hp diesel engine or optional 50 hp electric motor. With a production speed of 5.5 cords per hour, the unit uses a 3-second splitting cycle time on logs up to 24 inches in diameter. The first pump in the hydraulic unit provides about 30 tons of splitting force. The second pump spins the saw blade at 1,000 RPM, and the third pump powers accessories, like the two-stage conveyor, splitting wedge and the 14-foot live deck. Logs can be cut into lengths from 12 to 24 inches and are hydraulically driven to the eight-way splitter.

Redesigned Racks

AlturnaMATS has redesigned its Turn-a-Racks, used for storage and transport. The Turn-a-Rack has been restructured using round steel instead of square. This makes the rack 30 percent lighter in weight, yet more durable. They are less likely to bend and have closed ends. They are part of the MatPak package or can be purchased separately to go along with AlturnaMATS ground protection mats.

Ten Tree Transplanters

CEAttachments has added 10 new tree transplanters to its lineup. Four EDGE Standard-Duty models handle root ball diameters of 24, 30, 40 and 50 inches. They come standard with 25-degree-angle, semitruncated blades that penetrate all types of soil. The units have three, four or six blades made of .25-inch, high-alloy steel and an additional valve port for operating rear stabilizers.

Six CareTree Heavy-Duty transplanters handle root ball diameters of 28, 32, 36, 42, 48 and 54 inches. Three spade shapes are available: cone, with 30-degree angle; truncated, with 22-degree angle; and semitruncated, with 25-degree angle.

All tree transplanters come standard with hoses and flat face couplers. Optional rear stabilizers and counterweights are available.

New Bull Hog

Fecon has introduced the BH200 Bull Hog mulching attachment for 180 to 600 hp tractors. It incorporates the HDT Step Rotor system, which has two cutting diameters and a staggered tool pattern for cutting efficiency. The unit can be hydraulically powered with 65 to 200 GPM and up to 6,000 PSI. Fixed and variable displacement motor options are available, as well as a PTO version for tractors from 180 to 440 hp. The PTO model includes a pivoting gearbox for improved range of motion. The BH200 can be equipped with standard dual carbide tools, narrow single carbides, stone tools, a knife tool, or a combination of tools.
