New Climbing Rope

Tachyon, the newest addition to New England Ropes’ 24-carrier rope line, features Flexifirm Core Technology,  a tough, durable, UV and abrasion-resistant polyester sheath over a dual core of nylon, surrounding polyolefin inner core strands. The rope has superior strand definition and a firm, round shape that improves friction hitch performance. Additionally, Tachyon has no sheath slippage, so it performs well in mechanical devices without bunching or bagging in the cover.

Tachyon, available in three high-visibility colors for safety, was designed to have a slightly larger diameter than other 24-carrier ropes. The 11.5 mm diameter and firm, round cross section improve grip and reduce hand fatigue without the weight or bulk of .5-inch ropes.

Cranes from DEL

DEL Hydraulics now offers Maxilift articulating cranes and Cobra service cranes.

The Maxilift crane is light and compact and can be installed on light commercial vehicles. Cranes feature a load-limiting device, multifunction valve bank, ergonomic control console, fully engineered hydraulic extensions, low-maintenance rotation system and a one-piece boom structure.

Cobra cranes feature a hexagonal steel boom with a single-stage cylinder extension inside and a rotating, hydraulic slewing system. The sheaves are made of low-friction, weatherproof polymer. The anti-two block and stop-end cable system is located on the drum. The digital, programmable processor control unit is located in a weatherproof case.

Backsaver Combo

The new TW-236 log splitter from Timberwolf is designed specifically for outdoor furnace users. With its extended 36-inch bed, the TW-236 will make short work of longer logs, allowing operators to produce more split wood at a record pace. The TW-236 is powered by a 9 hp, Honda OHV engine. Available options include a four-way wedge to reduce splitting time, as well as a log lift and table grate designed to reduce strain and increase productivity.

Stumps Beware

Grind Zero’s new zero-turn stump grinder features wireless radio remote control, dual wheels, proportional hydraulics, a 1-inch-thick cutter wheel with 24 cutting teeth. The self-propelled grinder can fit through a 36-inch gate opening, maneuvers easily into tight spots, has a 14-foot turning radius and can travel up to 3 mph. Available engines from Briggs & Stratton or Kohler include 31, 35 and 38 hp options.

Skinny Skid Steer

The S100 skid steer loader from Bobcat Co. features a 1,000-pound rated operating capacity, a spacious cab and a completely new instrument panel. The S100 is 50 inches wide with bucket, has a lift height of 8 feet 6 inches and an operating weight of 4,110 pounds. It can travel up to 6.5 mph and has a 13.1 GPM hydraulic pump capacity.

The loader’s four-cylinder, 33.5 hp, diesel engine is transversely mounted, which allows the machine to be equipped with the same belt drive system as other Bobcat skid steer loaders for powering the hydrostatic drive system and hydraulic pumps.

Over 35 attachments are approved for the S100, and can be put on quickly with the standard Bob-Tach mounting system.

Make Tracks

The F-Series steel track system by Loegering Mfg. provides traction while increasing flotation. This over-the-tire system provides the most pad-to-ground contact for maximum flotation and features a double-pivot design, which makes it easy to maneuver. The track system features hammer-forged steel pads, which provide the most wear-resistant pad bottom, and is equipped with threaded DuraPins for longer life and ease of replacement. Each component of the system is individually hardened before assembly to increase durability and longevity.

Turbo Time

The DK90 tractor from Kioti features a 90 hp, 268-cubic-inch, turbocharged, Perkins diesel engine and 16 shuttle gears. An available front-end loader and other implements attach easily to a stabilized, telescopic, three-point hitch.

The DK90’s one-lever joystick simplifies loader control. Standard features include a rear differential lock, auto PTO switch, wet disc brakes and on-demand, electric-control, four-wheel drive.

The cab of the DK90 offers a suspension seat, power steering, a tilting wheel, air conditioning and a radio/CD player.

Defend Your Trees

Bayer Environmental Science’s CoreTect tablets can be used during tree and shrub installation or on established plants. The product combines Merit insecticide with a fertilizer in convenient, easy-to-use tablets.

When plants are under stress, photosynthesis, water use and respiration become inefficient. CoreTect systemically triggers enzymatic pathways that produce antioxidants, resulting in better stress defense and more efficient use of nutrients and water.

CoreTect’s controlled-release formulation provides long residual control of insect pests such as adelgids, whiteflies, borers and leaf-feeding beetles.

Going Solo

Weighing in at 13.9 pounds, the new Solo 681 chain saw can handle a 36-inch guidebar and delivers 6.4 hp with an 80.7cc, gas-fired, two-cycle engine. This model also features an advanced vibration isolation system, a maintenance-free ignition system and a 25.4-ounce tank capacity.

Son of a Beast

Bandit’s new compact grinder, the 1680 Sharptooth Beast Recycler, is easy to maneuver and tow. Featuring a 52-by-24-inch infeed opening, the unit weighs in under 20,000 pounds and rides on two 10,000-pound Torflex axles for easy transport. The 1680 also features 26 cutter bodies with teeth, engine options up to 275 hp and an optional 36-inch, hydraulic, folding infeed pan.

Loaders Galore

Caterpillar has introduced the B2 Series of six skid steer loaders and two multi-terrain loaders, featuring ergonomic operator stations and high-performance power trains. The new skid steer loaders range in rated operating capacity from 1,400 to 2,500 pounds, while the multi-terrain loaders have capacities of 2,050 and 2,500 pounds.

Four cab option packages allow selection from a basic cab to one with suspension seat, cab debris barrier, cup holder, heater/air conditioner, cab door and side windows. Three control option packages run from a basic design to one with high-flow joystick options.

The radial lift design on four of the machines delivers excellent digging performance. The other four have a vertical lift design, which provides extended reach and lift height for quick and easy truck loading. A single-level suspension undercarriage provides low ground pressure, stability, high traction and fast travel.

Trench It!

The Zahn R150 trencher from Ditch Witch is 36 inches wide and features a 15 hp, gas-powered Honda engine, electronic throttle and auto choke (on electric-start models).

Different tires are available depending on applications or job site conditions, including 18-inch, air-filled tires and optional 18-inch, urethane-filled, flat-proof tires to provide additional stability when trenching. The R150 has one ground drive speed of 3.3 mph, optimized for trenching.

Reach for the Sky!

The lightweight Easy-Lift Harness from TAS Industries is designed for use with extended hedge trimmers, pole pruners, extended power pole pruners, line trimmers and stick edgers. The harness helps to reduce stress and fatigue and increase productivity. The Easy-Lift can lift up to 100 percent of an implement’s weight. The ergonomic design encourages the user to have proper posture while providing a full range of motion for the implement in use. It is adjustable for the height of the operator, can be folded for easy transportation and storage, and can be adjusted for use with different implements.
