Bandit Industries has added Kevin Covert to its national stump grinder sales team. Morbark has converted to Morthane, a two-component urethane industrial topcoat with a two-component urethane primer. The coating, developed exclusively for Morbark by NCP Coatings, Inc., is durable and resists chips, corrosion and chemicals.
Bartlett Announces New Board Members
Bartlett Tree Experts announced the election of Reyno Giallongo and Robert Stelben to its board of directors. Giallongo currently serves as an executive vice president at First County Bank. Stelben is now retired, having held positions as vice president and treasurer with major corporations during a career spanning more than 40 years.

Students Learn Safe Tree Care Skills
More than 30 New York City youth in the MillionTreesNYC Training Program learned and practiced safe and proper tree felling skills on Randall’s Island. They completed the training with the sponsoring companies of the Tree Research & Education Endowment Fund, including Asplundh Tree Expert Co., Bartlett Tree Experts, Davey Tree Expert Co. and Stihl, Inc.
Swingle Wins Communication Award
Swingle Lawn, Tree & Landscape Care received the 2009 Tree Care Industry Association Professional Communication Award at the organization’s annual conference. The company received the award in the special entry category for its Trees for 3s cause marketing campaign. During the 2009-2010 season, every time the Denver Nuggets scored a three-pointer during home games, Swingle and the Denver Department of Parks & Recreation added one more tree to the Mile High Million Tree Initiative.

Stihl, Inc. announced that it has selected the Oregon State Fair in Salem, Ore., as the host venue for its 25th anniversary season of the Stihl Timbersports Series. The series’ quarterfinals, semifinals, U.S. championship and collegiate championship will take place during the fair’s opening weekend, August 27-29.
The Oglebay National Training Center in West Virginia hosted the third year of the National Association of State Park Directors Leadership School. The program is funded in part by gold-level sponsor Stihl, which provides travel funds to offset expenses of attending on-site leadership school events and also sponsors the NASPD annual conference.
ALL Sunshine Crane Wins Safety Awards
ALL Sunshine Crane Rental, Apopka, Fla., was presented with two awards from the Florida division of the United Safety Council at its award banquet. The company earned the Gold Fleet Safety Award for having zero at-fault vehicle accidents during the period from October 1, 2008, through September 30, 2009, as well as the Lost Time Prevention Award for having no occupational injuries resulting in lost time for that same period.
Terex Offers More Equipment Solutions
More customers will have easier access to a broader range of Terex and Genie equipment through a new arrangement that will improve availability of more than 60 products in rental and distributor channels. Authorized Terex distributors will now have the ability to sell some of the most popular models of Genie towable Z-booms, Genie telehandlers, Genie material lifts and Terex light towers in addition to offering the full line of Terex compact construction products. In addition, select rental customers will now have the entire Terex compact construction equipment line available to them, as well as the Terex aerial work platform products they usually offer.
