Steve Jobs, the late entrepreneur, inventor and co-founder of Apple, once said, “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work.”
As I thought about what I wanted to say in this space regarding Tree Services 10th anniversary – the first issue was published in February of 2005 – I came across this quote and it really hit home. Obviously, Steve Jobs knew what he was talking about. No matter what profession you’re in, doing great work should always be the goal. I’m sure that’s your goal in your tree care business. I can tell you, that’s our goal for this magazine: to provide you with content that informs and educates you each month.
At least we hope so.
As I mentioned in my first Editor’s Note last October, we strive for greatness in every issue, because you deserve it each and every time.
We’re here for you, and we’re here because of you. How else would we have made it 10 years? This magazine has come a long way since that first issue (as you can see from the first cover). In the 10 years between our first issue and now, a lot has changed within these pages.
What hasn’t changed is our commitment to our audience. With that being said, we want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank each and every one of you, whether you’ve been reading Tree Services since that first issue back in 2005, or this is your first issue. Thank you for reading, thank you for supporting us with your advertising dollars, and thank you for your feedback. It has allowed us to keep going strong for 10 years, getting better with each year and each issue.
Speaking of getting better, I’m proud to present to you the newly redesigned Tree Services, which you’ll notice as you flip through the pages. We’ve given Tree Services a makeover, with the ultimate goal to give our magazine a sleeker, more modern and more visually appealing look.
We’ve added some new features and are planning to do more as 2015 progresses.
In addition, we’re also proud of our recently redesigned and updated website, which allows you to more easily navigate through current and past editions of Tree Services, as well as get up-to-date news regarding tree care and arboriculture issues. Like the magazine, we wanted to give the website a more modern feel and make it more interactive.
I encourage you to go to the website and check out the digital edition – as the Editor in Chief, this is something I’m very proud of. It makes it easy and convenient to read Tree Services on most any device – computer, tablet or smartphone.
I know you’re also finding us in the social media world, as our Facebook page continues to get more and more “Likes.”
So far, 2015 has been a great year for Tree Services, with much more to come.
Here’s to many more years of providing you top-notch educational content, professional insight and product information to help you build a safe and successful business.
