Stens Increases Fits Model Database

Stens has expanded its fits model database to include more than 320,000 equipment applications, making it easier to find parts for specific needs. The fits model database is a resource for parts fitting over 200 brands. Altec & Lucas Announce Green Strategy

Altec Industries and Lucas Tree Experts announced a joint environmental strategy to promote Green Fleet technology for diesel fleet consumers. Two Altec Green Fleet trucks have been integrated into the Lucas Tree service fleet to increase awareness of sustainable practices in the tree care industry. Lucas Tree operates in New England, the Carolinas and Canada, and plans to utilize the hybrid units in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Arborjet Announces EPA Approval

Arborjet announced that TREE-äge insecticide received expanded label approval from the EPA to control several invasive species, such as western pine beetle, mountain pine beetle and other associated engraver beetles. TREE-äge is applied through the Arborjet injection system, sealing the formulation inside the tree, where it provides up to two years of control. News from Davey

The Davey Tree Expert Co. has promoted Scott Deevers to the position of vice president of northern operations in its utility services division. Deevers started his career with Davey in 1993, most recently serving as vice president of eastern operations for the utility services division. He is a graduate of Miami University.

Davey has acquired Tree Health Professionals, Inc., Campbell, Calif., and will integrate its expert services into its residential/commercial operations. Tree Health Professionals will merge its operations with Davey’s Santa Clara territory.

Ward Peterson, utility and urban resources manager for Davey Resource Group, was named Utility Arborist of the Year by the Utility Arborist Association. Peterson is chairman of the UAA Research Committee and helped organize the first Tree Biomechanics Symposium, held in 2010.

Shepherd Receives CTSP Certification

Cary Shepherd, a 20-year veteran of Husqvarna, recently completed the Certified Treecare Safety Professional program offered by the Tree Care Industry Association. Shepherd has spent 20 years presenting chain saw safety and application training programs to groups across the U.S. The purpose of the CTSP program is to reduce work-related fatalities, injuries and illnesses overall, and completion of the program demonstrates a commitment to improving the safety and well-being of tree care workers across the industry.
